A senior adviser to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a strong warning to the United States, saying American military bases around the world could come under attack or potentially be seized if Washington uses nuclear weapons against Iran.
Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi said any nuclear strike on Iran would lead to a major response from Tehran. He warned that the consequences would not be limited to Iranian territory and could affect U.S. military interests in different parts of the world.
Iran has also indicated that it is prepared for a prolonged confrontation with the United States. Rather than allowing the conflict to be settled through a quick military campaign, Tehran appears determined to rely on sustained pressure and time as part of its strategy.
The warning comes as tensions remain high around the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global shipping route. Iran has increasingly presented control over the strategic waterway as an important source of leverage in its confrontation and negotiations with Washington.
Naqdi's remarks represent another significant escalation in Iran's rhetoric as concerns grow over the possibility of the United States expanding military action against Tehran.
The statements further highlight the risks of a wider regional conflict, particularly if either side takes steps that could trigger a much broader military confrontation.
