Iran Reportedly Activates Underground Missile Facilities

Iran has reportedly begun activating its underground “missile cities” as it seeks to safeguard its missile arsenal and launch capabilities from possible renewed airstrikes.

The facilities are located deep within mountainous areas and are designed to house missiles, launch equipment and other essential military infrastructure. Iran has previously revealed several of these underground complexes as part of its efforts to protect its strategic weapons.

Their construction beneath mountains is intended to make them more difficult to detect and destroy, particularly during conventional air attacks.

However, past military strikes have shown that underground facilities can still be vulnerable to advanced weapons and sustained attacks.

The reported activation of these sites could allow Iran to spread out its missile forces while keeping them protected inside hardened positions.

This would give Tehran additional options for maintaining its missile-launching capability and strengthening its ability to withstand prolonged air attacks.
